The spring\/summery weather has been perfect; low 70&#8217;s and sunny.\u00a0 Perfect biking weather<em> (see photo to your left)<\/em>, walking weather, walking and talking weather.\u00a0 Yesterday, I met up with a good friend in Central Park.\u00a0 We moved our tushes from one bench to another, chewing the fat, dishing the dirt &#8230; catching up!<\/p>\n<p>In addition and most heart-warmingly important <em>(sorry dear friend, Ellen)<\/em>, Peter and I had dinner with our kids &#8211; who are hardly kids &#8211; Abby, our daughter and SIL, Mike &#8211; which was lovely!\u00a0 And we also &#8211; upon return &#8211;\u00a0 immediamente &#8211; dashed to Harriet <em>(my almost 96-year young mother)<\/em> at her assisted living residence to find her doing extraordinarily well.\u00a0 It is good to be back &#8211; and relationships remain primo on what&#8217;s important in life, yes? Yes!<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, I do so love the desert, the lizards, the sun, the cacti, the heated pool <em>(yes, even though it was over 100 degrees, the heated pool was extraordinarily enjoyable)<\/em> and I love our gaggle of Tucson friends.\u00a0 I floated in the pool, a lot!!! and apparently, I am good at it.\u00a0 People commented left n&#8217; right, <em>&#8220;Wow, you float so well.&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0 I have declared it to be &#8216;my sport.&#8217; and the next time someone asks me how I exercise, I will say that in addition to walking a few miles daily <em>(in NYC)<\/em>, I am also an olympic-level floater! Next trip, I&#8217;ll take photos of me floating!\u00a0 I am seriously good at it!!! SERIOUSLY!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em><strong>Nevertheless &#8230; where Here, there or anywhere, <\/strong><\/em>I did notice that <em><strong>two things remain constant<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n<p>1.)\u00a0 <strong>WHEREVER YOU GO, THERE YOU ARE!!!<\/strong>\u00a0 No matter where I am &#8211; I&#8217;ve got the same mind and no matter where I am, I remain aware of my thoughts knowing full well that my actions follow my thoughts.\u00a0 I do my best to keep them positive, useful and healthy!<\/p>\n<p>2.) <strong>REMAIN DETERMINED!<\/strong>\u00a0 There are ample opportunities when &#8216;away&#8217; to lose FOCUS and DETERMINATION; to let go of all the good, healthy living habits that I have created over the past decade.\u00a0 Some of my healthy habits are deeply embedded, some less so.\u00a0 Which &#8230; <em>drum roll please<\/em> &#8230; brings me to this week&#8217;s CHEWING THE FAT segment of the KITT CLUB e-letter and this week&#8217;s QUOTES to Live By!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000cd\"><strong>CHEWING the FAT with OUR LADY of WEIGHT LOSS<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Hi Janice (a.k.a. OLofWL),<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 I read<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/maildogmanager.com\/lptrack.html?OurLadyofWeightLoss::594::http:\/\/maildogmanager.com\/page.html?p=000001XDDtjH+btr8RcWczw6UhutTinsz5uXB6ESyV+5F+FOYfFA==\">last week&#8217;s CHEWING the FAT<\/a> <\/strong>email from &#8220;BD.&#8221;\u00a0 And you know what!?!! &#8230;\u00a0 I could have written the same thing!<\/p>\n<p>Yes, I know all the heath risks with being diabetic <em>(and it scares me too!), <\/em>but I don&#8217;t do what I need to do!\u00a0 So &#8230; I will reread what you answered her and<strong> try <\/strong>to work on myself<strong>. <\/strong><em>(Maybe I&#8217;ll get my hubby to print it out!!)<\/em> <em><strong>~ Madhatter<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Dear Madhatter ~<\/strong><\/em> First, I do love the name Madhatter and the tea party in Alice in Wonderland. The Madhatter asks Alice if she would like more tea, to which she replies, &#8220;How can you have more if you haven&#8217;t had any?&#8221;\u00a0 Brilliant writing &#8230; and, yes, I digress.<\/p>\n<p>Please allow me to come out of the rabbit hole and respond to your email, which I greatly appreciate your writing!\u00a0 I am guessing that there are a good many Tushkateers out there who related to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/maildogmanager.com\/lptrack.html?OurLadyofWeightLoss::594::http:\/\/maildogmanager.com\/page.html?p=000001XDDtjH+btr8RcWczw6UhutTinsz5uXB6ESyV+5F+FOYfFA==\">l<em>ast week&#8217;s CHEWING the FAT<\/em><\/a> <\/strong>and are thinking just what you are!<\/p>\n<p><em>In addition to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/maildogmanager.com\/lptrack.html?OurLadyofWeightLoss::594::http:\/\/maildogmanager.com\/page.html?p=000001XDDtjH+btr8RcWczw6UhutTinsz5uXB6ESyV+5F+FOYfFA==\">last week&#8217;s CHEWING the FAT<\/a><\/strong> TIPS &#8230; here are a few more <strong>&#8220;Points of LITE.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>1. <strong>ONE YEAR FROM TODAY<\/strong>:\u00a0 <strong>Where do you want to be one year from today?<\/strong>\u00a0 Get yourself a piece of paper and a pen and on the top write:\u00a0 It is June 19, 2013, and I am &#8230; And then, write out in the present tense where you, how you look, how you feel, who you are with, etc.\u00a0 Details are important and again in the present tense.\u00a0 Do NOT write, it is June 2013, and I will be &#8230; that implies that some day you will do this or that.\u00a0 Experience it as if it has already happened.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0 <strong>PLAN, PLAN, PLAN:\u00a0<\/strong> You guys <em>(for the most part)<\/em> are allergic to planning.\u00a0 You think that it is constrictive and falls into the &#8216;have to&#8217; category.\u00a0 When in actuality planning your day, preparing for it is your ticket to freedom.\u00a0 Once all is in order, you are free to think about other things, enjoy your day, glide through it!\u00a0 Start your day, your week, your month and this year with a specific plan.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 <strong>AVOID WIGGLE ROOM<\/strong> <em>(at all costs)<\/em>.\u00a0 When people tell me that they are on a &#8216;healthy eating plan&#8217; my ears immediately stand at alert (like a rabbit or a cat). \u00a0 Is it a specific healthy plan?\u00a0 Do you know what a really healthy plan looks like?\u00a0 Are there any limits to your healthy eating plan?\u00a0 Seriously, one can wiggle their way up the scales of injustice, an easy 5 pounds, if they &#8216;eat healthy&#8217; without specificity or limits; without real planning and preparing.<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0 <strong>GET HIGH on DETERMINATION.<\/strong>\u00a0 Seriously <em>(for a funny person with a light attitude, I do say &#8216;seriously&#8217; a lot &#8211; but seriously folks, really?)<\/em> &#8230; how determined are you to create a better life?\u00a0 Step into your healthy living warrior suit and breathe in determination, commitment and see what kind of energy you exhale!\u00a0 <em><strong>Inhale:\u00a0 Determination. \u00a0 Exhale: Extraordinary Energy<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0 <strong>IS YOUR LIFE A HOBBY?<\/strong>\u00a0 Hey, let me ask you something?\u00a0 Is &#8216;healthy living&#8217; a hobby?\u00a0 Just so you know, it&#8217;s not a part-time thing.\u00a0 If it&#8217;s an on again \/ off again thing, if you schedule the gym, a WW meeting, a coaching session and decide, &#8220;oh well, I&#8217;m busy &#8211; I&#8217;ll do it another time&#8221; &#8211; or find that there are no fruits n&#8217; veggies\/healthy foods in the fridge, and so &#8230; &#8216;oh well, cherry pie has some fruit in it,&#8217; then, it&#8217;s a hobby.\u00a0 If your life is a hobby, that&#8217;s okay (well, is it???), just be honest about it.\u00a0 Is your life a hobby?\u00a0 Are you okay with that???<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><span style=\"color: #a52a2a\"><em><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size: x-small\">But with the right kind of coaching and determination you can accomplish anything. ~ Reese Witherspoon<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Madhatter, BD and all Tushkateers alike &#8230; was that enough of a Kick in the Tush?\u00a0 Oh &#8211; one other thing.\u00a0 STOP TRYING!!!
