Did you know that coffee berries contain the seeds and that they are produced by several species of small evergreen bushes of the genus Coffea?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Once ripe, the coffee berries are picked, processed, and dried. The seeds are then roasted to varying degrees, depending on the desired flavor. They are then ground and brewed to create coffee.<\/div>\n

If you are interested in ‘growing your own,<\/a>‘ then you can order a small plant from a variety of places, including Gurney’s<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 This unique plant, while easy to grow in the right ‘zones,’ does take 3-4 years to bear fruit, which ripens to red in the fall.<\/p>\n
