{"id":3530,"date":"2012-04-04T19:05:16","date_gmt":"2012-04-04T23:05:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/ourladyofweightloss\/?p=3530"},"modified":"2012-04-04T19:12:05","modified_gmt":"2012-04-04T23:12:05","slug":"the-ten-commandments-of-permanent-weight-loss-revised-edition-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/ourladyofweightloss\/2012\/04\/the-ten-commandments-of-permanent-weight-loss-revised-edition-2012.html","title":{"rendered":"The Ten Commandments of Permanent Weight Loss (revised edition 2012)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My client, who has<em> <\/em>already permanently removed a good 20 pounds of excess baggage, is nearing her goal weight: only 3.6 pounds to go.\u00a0 She is hoping to reach her \u2018magic\u2019 number before her next birthday, which is a short seven weeks away.<\/p>\n<p>At first glance losing 3.6 pounds in 7 weeks might seem like a piece of cake (pardon the pun), but when you do the math, if Sue is to reach her goal, then she needs to lose on average a half a pound a week.<\/p>\n<p>Sue and I reviewed her treasure trove of tools and her strategies and put together a list of her top ten \u2018points of light,\u2019 the things she needs to remember to do, to focus on, to remain diligent about, if she is to shed those last pounds.<\/p>\n<p>Weight Loss is NOT a one-size-fits-all happening.\u00a0 Some of Sue\u2019s Ten Commandments may speak to you; some not.\u00a0 Read through and then create your own Ten Commandments of Personal Weight Removal.\u00a0 Feel free to share below!<\/p>\n<p>Sue\u2019s <strong>TEN COMMANDMENTS of PERMANENT WEIGHT LOSS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\">\n<li><strong>STICK to the PLAN.\u00a0 <\/strong>Sue is following the \u2018point\u2019 system.\u00a0 During the past month or so, because she has been engaged in a major move from one part of town to the other, and other life-changing and stressful events, she\u2019s been loosey-goosey around counting the points.\u00a0\u00a0 Sue realizes that in order for her to be clear on what she is ingesting, she needs to follow Our Lady of Weight Loss\u2019s simple rule:\u00a0 If you Bite It\/ You MUST Write It!<\/li>\n<li><strong>FRUITS\/VEGGIES.<\/strong>\u00a0 Knowing that fruits and vegetables are the heart and soul of good health, healthy eating habits and weight loss, Sue has committed to eating at least 9 servings per day.\u00a0 At least!
