YIKES!  This weight loss guru can&#8217;t have that happen! What to do?  Research belly fat, fight back and knock those mid-section fatties outta&#8217; here!<br \/>\n<big><strong>It&#8217;s all in the Why Me &#8220;Y!&#8221; <\/strong><\/big><br \/>\nResearchers have found that fat cells in the abdomen produce a hormone called neuropeptide Y (NPY), an appetite stimulant previously believed to originate form the brain.<br \/>\n<big><strong>Belly Fat Cure<\/strong><\/big><br \/>\nFortunately, scientists have found that certain foods do fight belly fat.  Three big claps for the scientists!<em> (Clap! Clap! Clap!)<\/em><br \/>\n#1 punch &#8230; <big><strong>Whole Grain Foods<\/strong><\/big><br \/>\nStudies show that those who incorporate whole grains, cereals and other foods into their diets tend to lose more fat from their abdomens than those who eat only refined-grain foods.  You know, the &#8216;white&#8217; stuff.<br \/>\n<strong>Brown Rice Bites!<\/strong><br \/>\nThis recipe incorporates all three knock-out-fat ingredients!  Plus hot and spicy salsa! (Research shows that hot and spicy foods support your weight loss efforts, as well!)<br \/>\n<em>Ingredients:<\/em><br \/>\n3 cups cooked brown rice, cooled<br \/>\n3\/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese, lite<br \/>\n2 eggs<br \/>\n4 egg whites<br \/>\n1 16-oz. jar HOT Salsa, thick and chunky style<br \/>\n1\/2 cup 2% plain yogurt (Greek is best!)<br \/>\nsalt and pepper to taste<br \/>\n3\/4 cup crushed corn chips, organic<br \/>\n<em>Instructions:<\/em><br \/>\nPreheat oven to 350 degrees.<br \/>\nIn a large mixing bowl, combine rice and cheese; set aside.<br \/>\nIn medium bowl, beat eggs until well blended.<br \/>\nStir in salsa, yogurt, salt and pepper.<br \/>\nAdd salsa mixture to rice and cheese; mix well.<br \/>\nSpray mini-muffin pans with cooking spray.<br \/>\nSpoon in rice mixture, to just below the rim.<br \/>\nSprinkle crushed chips on top; gently press into mixture.<br \/>\nBake for approximately 15 minutes or until golden brown. YUM!<br \/>\n#2 punch &#8230; <strong>Low-Fat Milk and Yogurt <\/strong><br \/>\nResearch shows that the more calcium in the fat cells, the more the fat cells burn fat. So, load up on calcium rich foods!<br \/>\n<strong>Like Hummus:<\/strong><br \/>\nMy neighbor says, &#8220;Hummus is like crack to me. I love it!&#8221;  I concur! Here&#8217;s a &#8216;low-cal&#8217; totally healthy version that features yogurt.  Again, I so prefer the Greek kind.<br \/>\n<em>Ingredients:<\/em><br \/>\n1 15 oz can of chickpeas or garbanzo beans, drained (save liquid)<br \/>\n4 cloves garlic, crushed<br \/>\njuice from one freshly squeezed lemon<br \/>\n2 tablespoons low-fat peanut butter<br \/>\n3\/4 cup 2% plain yogurt (Greek)<br \/>\n1 teaspoon cumin<br \/>\na pinch of salt (to taste)<br \/>\n<em>Instructions:<\/em><br \/>\nIn blender combine all ingredients, blend until smooth and creamy.  If it is too thick, add a bit of the liquid from the chick peas.<br \/>\n#3 punch &#8230; <strong>Lean Protein<\/strong><br \/>\nLean proteins, eggs and beans, help to keep you feeling full longer, increase your energy, which in turn helps you to burn belly fat.<br \/>\n<strong>Jane&#8217;s Ginger-Lemon Chicken<\/strong><br \/>\nMy friend, Jane, shared this recipe with me.  It&#8217;s delicious, healthy, easy to whip up, and it&#8217;s an easy clean-up!<br \/>\n<em>Ingredients:<\/em><br \/>\n12 oz. chicken breasts, skinless and boneless<br \/>\n1\/3 c. coarsely cut fresh cilantro<br \/>\n1\/2-inch piece fresh ginger<br \/>\ngrated peel of 1\/2 lemon<br \/>\n2 cloves minced garlic<br \/>\njuice from 1\/2 lemon<br \/>\n2 tsp. apple cider vinegar<br \/>\n1 tsp. olive oil<br \/>\n<em>Instructions:<\/em><br \/>\nCombine ingredients in a food processor and then baste on the chicken as it broils.<br \/>\nAbout six minutes per side.<br \/>\nEnjoy!<br \/>\n<em>Spread the word, NOT the icing!<br \/>\nJanice<\/em><br \/>\nFollow Janice <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/ourlady\">on Twitter<\/a><\/strong>!
