It\u2019s a fact and official.<br \/>\nSuffice to say, I got turned around too many times today <em>(once!)<\/em>, to find my way back to my hotel room. After walking for over half an hour <em>(which is truly a long time in 102 degree heat)<\/em> on a dusty, dry Arizona highway, I saw the most beautiful sign that read: ICED COFFEE.<br \/>\nTongue hanging to the floor, hair flat <em>(there\u2019s no humidity here, my curls are almost non-existent!<\/em>), and barely audible, I ordered me the largest iced coffee they could manage.<br \/>\n<strong>I was saved!<\/strong>  By the iced coffee and the gentlemen who pointed me in the right direction.<br \/>\nAnd woo hoo &#8230; here\u2019s <strong>more good news for those of us who enjoy a good cuppa\u2019 Joe.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n&#8211; According to a 10-year study conducted by the University of Bristol, scientists have found that a cup of coffee can sharpen your attention.<br \/>\n&#8211; Some reports indicate that coffee may reduce the risk of colon cancer by 25%, because it helps to keep you regular.<em> (No need for prunes!)<\/em><br \/>\n&#8211; Coffee may reduce the risk of bladder cancer, skin cancer, diabetes, Parkinson\u2019s disease, and coffee may reduce the risk of developing kidney stones.<br \/>\n&#8211; Theophylline, a compound in coffee, acts as a bronchodilator.  For those with asthma, drinking coffee can lessen symptoms by 25 percent.<br \/>\n&#8211; Coffee increases your alertness, which may, in fact, allow you to experience the joie de vie!<br \/>\nNow, don\u2019t go hog wild guzzling gallons of the stuff, but it looks as though a couple of cuppa Joe&#8217;s (under 2 cups if you\u2019re pregnant) won&#8217;t do you any harm!<br \/>\nSpread the word <em>(NOT the icing!<\/em>),<br \/>\nJanice<br \/>\n<strong>Righteous Recipe:<\/strong> <em> Iced Chocolate Coffee  (oh chocolate, we love you, so!)<\/em><br \/>\n2 servings<br \/>\n<strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><br \/>\n1 cup uber-strong brewed coffee, cooled<br \/>\n1\/2 cup 2% milk (or 1% or fat-free \u2026 you decide)<br \/>\n1\/4 cup chocolate sorbet, light (Sharon\u2019s is really good and low in calories and fat)<br \/>\nSweeten to taste.<br \/>\nIce cubes (as many or as few as you want).<br \/>\n<strong>Instructions: <\/strong>Toss in all ingredients into blender, plus a couple of coffee ice cubes.  Blend on high speed until smooth. Pour into 2 tall glasses and serve immediately.  And then \u2026 for the pi\u00e8ce de r\u00e9sistance throw in a few coffee ice cubes!<br \/>\nHere\u2019s how you make them!
