According to <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/61731-gop-chides-obama-over-dalai-lama\">The Hill<\/a>, Republican lawmakers are criticizing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/\">Obama administration <\/a>for failing to support <a href=\"http:\/\/www.voanews.com\/english\/2009-10-06-voa45.cfm\">Tibetan rights<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/documents\/udhr\/\">human rights<\/a> in general by not meeting with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dalailama.com\/\">Dalai Lama<\/a>. Since 1991, the leader of the Tibetan government-in-exile has visited the White House all 10 times he has been to Washington. <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/File:Bush,_Byrd_and_Pelosi_awarding_the_Dalai_Lama.jpg\">George W. Bush<\/a> even awarded His Holiness the Congressional Medal of Honor in 2007. The Dalai Lama did meet Senator John McCain and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, however. I just wonder if the <a href=\"http:\/\/features.csmonitor.com\/politics\/2009\/10\/07\/what-would-a-republican-healthcare-bill-look-like\/\">GOP<\/a> knows it is supporting a <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/onecity\/2009\/09\/dalai-lama-in-memphis-fist-bump-is-the-new-namaste_comments.html\">Marxist<\/a> (socialism! death panels!).
