Get ready for some lunacy from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lSoKsH-sQaY\">Mitch McConnell<\/a>, for sure.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sonia_sotomayor.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/124\/import\/sonia_sotomayor.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-none\" width=\"368\" height=\"500\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Of course, Sotomayor&#8217;s stance on abortion is poised to be a wedge issue. Read Ellen Scordato&#8217;s excellent post on <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/onecity\/2009\/05\/suddenly-sonia-is-sonia-sotomayor-supreme-court-bound.html\">Sonia Sotomayor and abortion.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nMy question is this: what is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/religion\/religions\/buddhism\/buddhistethics\/abortion.shtml\">Buddhist view of abortion?<\/a> I am certainly pro-choice, but I don&#8217;t buy one left-wing interpretation that because it&#8217;s your body, that body exists independent of all other concerns, the very same way that I don&#8217;t believe that a libertarian can own a gun without that gun affecting others. We exist interdependently.<\/p>\n<p>People who are anti-war AND anti-abortion make me stand up and take notice because they are a holding what I view as a coherent ethical position. Pro-war, anti-abortion folks confuse me to no end.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think?
