Full Report!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">We started with a Pep talk from Rafi, Ethan and &#8220;The Schneiderman&#8221;, then broke off into groups to make the most of the sunny in that talk.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n<p>Running the <strong>Re-usable Bagmaking Group<\/strong> were Glenn and Meaghan from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bagsforthepeople.org\/\">Bags for the People<\/a>, they are totally awesome and helped teach us how to turn all these\u00a0 scraps of old clothes&#8230;<br style=\"text-align:left\">The <strong>Petition Group<\/strong> hit the street to get some signatures in support of legislation that will reduce plastic bag usage in New York, which we hope to work with Senator Schneiderman to introduce to the NY State Senate.\u00a0 Just a small group of petitioners collected over 250 signatures in less than 3 hours.\u00a0 They seriously rocked those clipboards!<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp mceIEcenter\" style=\"text-align:left\">\n<dl>\n<dt><a href=\"https:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3525\/3464923248_5c40eaa985.jpg?v=0\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3525\/3464923248_5c40eaa985.jpg?v=0\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/dt>\n<dd>Happy people working to make happy laws<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">And after some prep time in the back room @ LILA the <strong>Street Theater Group<\/strong> took to the street performing &#8220;The Capture and Trial of the Bagmonster&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0 The petitioners followed us up to Union Square and one look at the bag monster and people were begging to do something to help.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp mceIEcenter\" style=\"text-align:left\">\n<dl>\n<dt><a style=\"text-align:left\">\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">Hearts were opened, action was packed and a lot of people got a very direct visualization of what plastic bag consumption looks like.\u00a0 Overall a great day!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">We&#8217;re going to be hosting more Re-Usable Bag Making events the next three Monday evenings from 5:30 -6:45 pm
