Hi there. Life is so weird, so unpredictable. Right? I just spent the last 24 hours basically living at Bellvue hospital because one of my friends got hit by a car. She is in a coma. I just sit beside her bed and talk to her tiny banged up body. And mostly I babysit her girlfriend — remind her to eat and sleep and cry. And I keep thinking about the class on grief that we had the other night at the IDP (led by Jessica Rasp) and how she said that on some level we all want a broken heart. Broken heart = open heart = potential for empathy and compassion. And as devastating as this is, I am trying to hang on to that. And gratitude. For my health. For my life.
