They claim it is satire, but I can’t see it.

No matter who you want to be president, no matter whether or not you care about elections, this action should have a consequence. I am speaking for myself as an individual, and I think everyone who has a subscription should call The New Yorker at 1-800-825-2510 and immediately cancel your subscription. Hell, call your dentist’s office and get them to cancel theirs. Then email everyone you know and tell them to cancel their subscription. Besides, magazines are bad for the environment – the paper version I mean. Blatantly fear-mongering and racist magazines are bad for both the inner and outer environments.

I don’t want to kill the New Yorker, but as a for profit corporate entity that responds mainly to the bottom line, it might be nice to have them feel real effects of their actions (besides, the precepts against harming apply to sentient beings. There are no known precepts against harming for-profit media outlets).

Everything is good up here in Vermont. Stillman Brown and I send love and mindfulness (and I send loving outrage). Stillman Brown is almost enlightened. We have four more full days to get the job done.

Longing for the days that the Media learns how to do it’s job so that the rest of us may find wisdom,

RP

Above is this week’s cover of the New Yorker.
