Sorry I have been MIA.\u00a0 <\/span>I have not been sitting down much, at a computer to write or a cushion to meditate.\u00a0 <\/span>What I have been doing is moving like a treadmill-girl, mostly on incline.\u00a0 <\/span>But this weekend I\u2019ve found some moments to catch my breath, on the cushion and in a few line breaks. \u00a0<\/span>Hope everyone is well and remembering to breathe.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

this year<\/span><\/p>\n

calendar pages stuck together<\/span><\/p>\n

like new-born eyes<\/span><\/p>\n

or early morning, moments glued by sunlight<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

love letters i forgot to open<\/span><\/p>\n

prayer flags dripping to the floor in colorful puddles<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

under our feet<\/span><\/p>\n

crystals of glass sparkling through concrete<\/span><\/p>\n

miles passing in new york minutes overgrown like bushes<\/span><\/p>\n

tall buildings pulling high as weeds<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

and under rivers tunnels thick as some veins\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

pump in and out of the heart<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

we all search<\/span><\/p>\n

as if our feet had compasses<\/span><\/p>\n

as if our eyes did not see each other<\/span><\/p>\n

through the new york anatomy <\/span><\/p>\n

scaffolding things together<\/span><\/p>\n

and calling it growth<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201ceveryone is damaged here\u201d she tells me<\/span><\/p>\n

and i see <\/span><\/p>\n

the reason we left or stayed<\/span><\/p>\n

is some fault line like california earthquake indicators<\/span><\/p>\n

squeezed into palms holding silver subway poles <\/span><\/p>\n

and black escalator arms rolling like big tires<\/span><\/p>\n

in loops and loops<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

we walk. <\/span><\/p>\n

from delancey to 14th<\/sup> street and back<\/span><\/p>\n

in loops<\/span><\/p>\n

my mind<\/span><\/p>\n

setting that groove like thin bicycle tires <\/span><\/p>\n

cabs and cars and trains<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

if i could just turn upside down<\/span><\/p>\n

the sky would ooze everywhere<\/span><\/p>\n

even into this year<\/span><\/p>\n
