\n\"Thumbnail<\/a><\/span>“The Last Word” show host Lawrence O’Donnell<\/strong> lashed out at the Almighty as well as the Book of Revelation last night on the “Rewrite” segment of his news commentary show.<\/p>\n

He’s MSNBC’s Senior Political Analyst as well as\u00a0the Emmy-winning producer and writer of NBC’s “The West Wing,” which explains that show’s penchant for portraying believers as freaks, crazies and threats to national security.<\/p>\n

During the “Rewrite” segment of his program, O’Donnell criticized other news shows for over-hyping the situation in Japan.<\/p>\n

He specifically\u00a0lampooned Fox News’s\u00a0Glenn Beck for citing the Book of Revelation in a segment, then declared:<\/p>\n

“The book of Revelation is a work of fiction describing how a truly vicious God would bring about the end of the world.”<\/p>\n

But O’Donnell wasn’t finished.<\/p>\n

“No half-smart religious person actually believes the Book of Revelation,” he proclaimed.\u00a0“They are certain that their God would never turn into a malicious torturer and mass murderer beyond Hitler’s wildest dreams.”<\/p>\n

Then, he had to get out one last jab at Beck, whose audience is about ten times as large as O’Donnell’s:<\/p>\n

“Glenn Beck, of course, does believe the book of Revelation.”<\/p>\n

Beck\u00a0cites\u00a0the Bible and St. John’s vision of the Apocalypse\u00a0upon occasion, however frequently laments that the end of the world is beyond his expertise.<\/p>\n

That, too, annoyed O’Donnell: “Why would anyone listen to a guy who doesn’t know if this is the end of the world when there’s another guy on MSNBC at eight every night who can tell you with absolute certainty, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this is not the end of the world? What do I have to do, change the name of the show to ‘The This is Not the End of the World Show with Lawrence O’Donnell?'”<\/p>\n

O’Donnell needs to check out the Tenth Commandment — “Thou Shalt Not Covet.”<\/p>\n

“Don’t listen to Beck. Listen to me,” he seems to be screaming.<\/p>\n

Too bad O’Donnell doesn’t believe the Bible. He might find\u00a0a role model in the Apostle Paul, who from prison wrote\u00a0in Phlippians 4:11: “… I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
