The National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., has scheduled \u201cA Call to Compassion\u201d interfaith prayer vigil on Sept. 11 — however not a single protestant or evangelical has been invited to participate.<\/p>\n

Who was invited?\u00a0A Roman Catholic bishop, a Jewish rabbi, Buddhist nun, a Hindu priest, the president of the Islamic Society of North America and a Muslim musician.<\/p>\n

Notably excluded are\u00a016.6 million\u00a0Southern Baptists, America’s largest protestant denomination.\u00a0Completely left off the program was anybody\u00a0represented by the National Association of Evangelicals: No Prebyterians, Methodists, Lutherans,\u00a0Congregationalists, Wesleyans or Mennonites. Nobody from the Church of Christ or the Assemblies of God.<\/p>\n
