Oddly missing is any examination of candidates from the other side of the aisle.<\/p>\n

What follows is an attack piece dissecting the donations that Texas Governor Rick Perry has made public. In sharp contrast, the article juxtapositions his public prayers — with a headline proclaiming:<\/p>\n

“Governor Rick Perry: Big On Prayer, Not So Big On Charity”<\/p>\n

Not taken into consideration is Jesus’ strong teaching that one does not publicize one’s good works. In the Sermon on the Mount\u00a0found in\u00a0Matthew, Jesus tells His followers:<\/p>\n

\u201cBeware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.<\/p>\n

\u201cThus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.<\/p>\n

“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It will be fascinating to see if the Huffington Post<\/em>, which was recently bought by America on Line, follows up with a similar series on liberal politicians.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
