(For you non-meteorologists, that\u2019s March 19 to April 5.) The purpose of Discardia, which was created by blogger <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metagrrrl.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dinah Sanders of Metagrrrl<\/a>, is to \u201cget rid of stuff and habits you no longer need.\u201d I\u2019ve got a few of those unnecessary habits and things, which tend to become clear to me <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.jasonboyett.com\/2008\/02\/why-i-observe-lent.html\">during the season of Lent<\/a>. Furthermore, on the Discardian New Moon (April 6), \u201cyou don\u2019t buy anything or bring anything into your home and enjoy the fact that you have enough.\u201d Great idea.<\/p>\n<p>Why not celebrate Discardia by cleaning out or decluttering some aspect of your life \u2014 your closet, your car, your garage \u2014 by recycling stuff, tossing stuff, or simply giving stuff away? Start with whatever you have too many of. Books? DVDs? Shoes?<\/p>\n<p>Fight materialism.
