Happy Monday. <\/span>I’ve done something like this before<\/a>, but I figured it would be a good time to run with it again.<\/p>\n

What I’m doing right now: <\/span>Biding time while compressing a video in iMovie. Day job stuff.<\/p>\n

What I will do next: <\/span>Design some posters for a Christmas gift-giving thing for my church’s internationals ministry.<\/p>\n

What I did last night:<\/span> Watched the movie “Get Smart<\/a>” with my wife after the kids went to bed. I don’t recommend it. Despite the presence of Steve Carell, it was pretty boring. I only watched the first 4\/5ths of the movie. The last 20 minutes were spent sleeping, which I never do. (Well, at least which I never do during a movie. I do sleep. Almost every night even!)<\/p>\n

Another thing I did this weekend: <\/span>Watched “High School Musical 3<\/a>” with the kids. Loved it. You could definitely tell the difference a big-screen budget makes compared to the first two made-for-TV editions. Better music, more complex choreography, large-scale cinematic sequences. HSM2 had a better plot, probably, but who cares about the plot of a musical anyway? Especially a musical for kids?<\/p>\n

What I’m drinking now: <\/span>Coffee. Black. Out of my standard Phillips Motor Oil mug. No idea where it came from.<\/p>\n

What I’m reading these days: <\/span>Salvation on the Small Screen? 24 Hours of Christian Television<\/a>,<\/span> by Nadia Bolz-Weber. Nadia is a Lutheran minister who spent 24 hours straight watching TBN with friends. This is her report about the experience. It’s brilliant. Every writer has the experience of seeing a book on the shelf and thinking, Man, that’s a great idea. I could SO have written that book.<\/span> But then you read it and think, Nope. He\/She totally did a better job than I would have.<\/span> I’ve had this experience with Nadia’s book and also with A.J. Jacobs’ The Year of Living Biblically.<\/span><\/a> Which you should also read. Right now.<\/p>\n

Last blog entry I read:<\/span> This one on Cool Hunting<\/a> about FlipBooks from Bob Books<\/a>. Which look pretty cool, but are also a little pricey for a flip book.<\/p>\n

Last email I received: <\/span>An email from Amazon wanting me to “Kick-Start My Holidays” by buying stuff from them. I am not yet ready to kick-start my holidays, Amazon. Quit pressuring me. There will be no kicking and\/or starting of holidays until I can at least smell<\/span> the turkey. Sheesh.<\/p>\n
