\"\"<\/a>It doesn’t take too long when one gets into astrology before encountering the concept of retrograde planets<\/strong> –usually starting with Mercury retrograde. When a planet is retrograde, the conventional wisdom is that one should apply extra caution and thoughtfulness when it comes to the things that the planet rules.<\/strong> For example, the intellectual dance I (and many others) perform every Mercury retrograde. When it starts I usually say something “hey just proofread more closely and check the directions and you’ll be fine). And by the end of it I’m all “OMG my computer broke down and I’m lost in the woods someone call search and rescue<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

Or, you know, something like that.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That, and in general, I tend to put less weight on retrogrades the further from the Sun that the planet in question is.<\/strong> But still, when Jupiter (for example) is retrograde? Should you really drop that surprise lawsuit against your spouse’s foreign-based party planning business? Maybe you should think that through.<\/em><\/p>\n

Venus retrograde (started in November 2021)<\/strong><\/em>
\nEnds:<\/strong> January 29, 2022, at 11 degrees Capricorn
\nNoteworthy:<\/strong> this means that the freaky-long Venus-Pluto conjunction will return again in late February-early March. Put down that donut!<\/p>\n

Mercury retrograde<\/strong><\/em>
\nBegins:<\/strong> January `14, 2022, at 10 degrees Aquarius
\nEnds:<\/strong> February 3, 2022, at 24 degrees Capricorn
\nNoteworthy:<\/strong> This retrograde ends with a conjunction with Pluto. Is this a chance for us to apply logic and reason to the most difficult issues we’ve faced in the last two years… or am I just being an optimist?<\/p>\n

Pluto retrograde<\/strong><\/em>
\nBegins:<\/strong> April 29, 2022, at 28 degrees Capricorn
\nEnds:<\/strong> October 8, 2022, at 26 degrees Capricorn
\nNoteworthy:<\/strong> Pluto grinds away forever, retrograde or not. And it grinds slowly… but relentlessly.<\/p>\n

Mercury retrograde<\/strong><\/em>
\nBegins:<\/strong> May 10, 2022, at 4 degrees Gemini
\nEnds:<\/strong> June 3, 2022, at 26 degrees Taurus
\nNoteworthy:<\/strong> Another retrograde that ends with an aspect to Pluto… this time, the trine. Watch me get all optimistic again that we can get our acts together.<\/p>\n

Saturn retrograde<\/strong><\/em>
\nBegins: June 4, 2022, at 25 degrees Aquarius
\nEnds:<\/strong> October 22, 2022, at 18 degrees Aquarius
\nNoteworthy:<\/strong> Oh great here we go a retrograde that ends with a close pass to that damned Saturn-Uranus square<\/a>.<\/strong> Just… great. Or: maybe it will<\/em> be!<\/p>\n

Neptune retrograde<\/strong>
\nBegins:<\/strong> June 27, 2022, at 25 Pisces
\nEnds:<\/strong> December 3, 2022, at 22 Pisces
\nNoteworthy:<\/strong> Shhh!<\/em> Neptune wants to take a nap! Be quiet…<\/p>\n

Jupiter retrograde<\/strong><\/em>
\nBegins:<\/strong> July 28. 2022, at 8 degrees Aries
\nEnds:<\/strong> November 23, 2022, at 28 Pisces
\nNoteworthy: Having Jupiter retrograde for the October and November Eclipses doesn’t necessarily bode well, but is no cause for obvious alarm.<\/p>\n

Uranus retrograde<\/strong><\/em>
\nBegins:<\/strong> August 24, 2022, at 18 Taurus
\nEnds:<\/strong> January 22, 2023, at 14 Taurus
\nNoteworthy:<\/strong> See my loud complaints about Saturn retrograde above.<\/p>\n

Mercury retrograde<\/strong><\/em>
\nBegins:<\/strong> September 9, 2022, at 9 degrees Libra
\nEnds:<\/strong> October 2, 2022, at 24 Virgo
\nNoteworthy: Once more, a retrograde makes a positive aspect to Pluto (the trine, again). Gosh, you’d almost think the Universe was trying to tell us something…<\/p>\n

Mars retrograde<\/strong><\/em>
\nBegins:<\/strong> October 30, 2022, at 25 degrees Gemini
\nEnds:<\/strong> January 12, 2023, at 8 degrees Gemini
\nNoteworthy:<\/strong> From mid-November to early December, Mars is square Neptune, Beware glamourous mirages.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mercury retrograde<\/strong><\/em>
\nBegins:<\/strong> December 29, 2022, at 24 degrees Capricorn
\nEnds:<\/strong> January 18, 2023, at 8 Capricorn
