\"matthew-currie-astrology-saturn<\/a>Many of you out there keep track of your own transits, or at least know which House of your birth chart Mars, for example, is passing through. You’ll go and look up what that means, and you’ll often find what’s sometimes called a “cookbook” interpretation.<\/p>\n

That’s all fine and well — you wanna cook, you’re gonna need to read some cook books, right? But in my experience, not only are interpretations like that potentially inadequate. Also, a description like that can describe an effect, but tends to ignore what we’re supposed to learn from a transit.<\/p>\n

Here’s an example: if you have Cancer rising (and if you use Whole Sign Houses<\/a>), then you have Saturn and Pluto transiting through the Seventh House of your birth chart. That’s the part of your chart that is most connected to partnerships — traditionally, it is called “The House Of Marriage.”<\/p>\n

How does one describe the effect of those transits on a person’s life? I’ve thought about writing about this for a while, and I admit I got bogged down. So, rather than put more hard work into getting it right, I decided to do the equally hard work of re-writing Shakespeare’s Sonnet XVIII. So, here you go. You’re welcome.<\/em><\/p>\n

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?<\/strong>
\n No, that would be way too easy on you.<\/strong>
\n Summer, at least, will come and it will stay<\/strong>
\n But your disquiet makes me sigh “Oy Vey!”<\/strong><\/p>\n

At least “summer” has no expectations<\/strong>
\n And doesn’t find new ways to annoy me<\/strong>
\n I forgive your quirks and affectations<\/strong>
\n And compensate for you, you must agree.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’ll show my love, and to this I will cling<\/strong>
\n Though often the ride is far from gentle<\/strong>
\n “It’s what I know, it’s what I do!” I sing,<\/strong>
\n ‘Cause what’s in my heart has made me mental.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The bad old relationships on my shelf?<\/strong>
\n What they all have in common… is myself.<\/strong><\/p>\n
