A typical horoscope lays out what you can expect for yourself in the next week or month based on your Sun Sign.<\/strong> That sort of thing is great, sure\u2026 especially if you happen to be the only person on your planet. Astrology, like life in general, is a lot more complicated than \u201cthere are twelve types of people, and here\u2019s what\u2019s going to happen to them today.\u201d<\/p>\n

This \u201choroscope\u201d is a listing of the major planetary aspects, ingresses, and events for December 2017. Each aspect is described below, with the date the aspect is exact and a \u201c+\/-\u201d which indicates the number of days that aspect will be most in effect.<\/strong> Generally, the closer to the exact date, the more pronounced the effect of the transit. And of course, as with everything else in life: your mileage may vary.<\/p>\n

But first, a word about aspects in general. Conjunctions, squares and oppositions can all be difficult.<\/strong> They generate the sort of energy that can get all up in your face and is hard to ignore, but it\u2019s hard to get much done in life without the raw energy they supply. Trines and sextiles<\/strong> are helpful and constructive, but it\u2019s easy to miss out on the opportunities they provide unless you make an effort.<\/p>\n

Dec \u00a01 \u00a0 \u00a0 Mars opposite Uranus<\/strong>
\n(+\/- 6 days) Strange tempers, strange lust, and a strange lack of control. Things flare up and go haywire.<\/p>\n

Dec 1 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 Venus enters Sagittarius<\/strong>
\nSave a horse… ride a cowboy.<\/p>\n

Dec \u00a02 \u00a0 \u00a0 Jupiter trine Neptune<\/strong>
\n(+\/- 12 days) An island of peace in an ocean of madness. “Eat, pray, love” isn’t just a book or a movie… it’s also a good idea.<\/p>\n

Dec 3 \u00a0\u00a0 Full Moon at 11 degrees Gemini<\/strong>
\n(Also a “Super Moon”) Werewolves! Talkative, chirpy werewolves!<\/p>\n

Dec 3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mercury Retrograde<\/strong>
\nUntil December 23, all the usual cautions apply<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dec \u00a03 \u00a0 \u00a0 Sun square Neptune<\/strong>
\n(+\/- 3 days) Low energies and low expectations. Feel free to sleep in.<\/p>\n

Dec \u00a06 \u00a0\u00a0 Mercury conjunct Saturn<\/strong>
\n(+\/- 3 days) Thoughts and words turn serious, but although the new ideas don’t come easily, they might be unusually practical.<\/p>\n

Dec \u00a06 \u00a0 \u00a0Mercury sextile Mars<\/strong>
\n(+\/- 3 days) You’re in a hurry to communicate your ideas\u2026 maybe you should put a little thought into it to get maximum effect.<\/p>\n

Dec \u00a06 \u00a0 \u00a0 Mars sextile Saturn<\/strong>
\n(+\/- 10 days) An outstanding time for plowing though your backlog of work, overcome some obstacles, or just clearing things off your desk so you can slack off closer to the holidays.<\/p>\n

Dec 9\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mars enters Scorpio<\/strong>
\nScorpios should be approached with caution. Like, even more than usual.<\/p>\n

Dec 10 \u00a0 \u00a0 Mercury trine Uranus<\/strong>
\n(+\/- 3 days) Express yourself in new and unusual ways.<\/p>\n

Dec 10 \u00a0 \u00a0 Venus square Neptune<\/strong>
\n(+\/- 4 days) Big enthusiastic affections and expressions \u2014 but how practical are they, really?<\/p>\n

Dec 25 \u00a0 \u00a0Venus conjunct Saturn<\/strong>
\n(+\/- 4 days) Not the most fun of aspects, but is excellent for combining caring thoughts and deeds with practical application.<\/p>\n
