HABIT #4: Repeat daily.<\/b><\/p>\n

READ IT<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me\u2014put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.\u201d <\/i>(Philippians 4:9)<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to get the wrong idea about faith. I\u2018m not sure about you, but I grew up thinking that faith in God was a one-time decision. Walk an aisle, prayer a prayer, talk with a pastor, get baptized. Whether it was the last night of youth camp or revival, whether it was on a Sunday morning or by the side of your bed late one night, give your heart to God (one-time decision), and you\u2019re good.<\/p>\n

True faith is so much more than that. The command most often given by Jesus in the Gospels (22 times) is not \u201cpray a prayer,\u201d \u201cmake a decision,\u201d or \u201cwalk an aisle.\u201d Jesus\u2019 primary command to his disciples is \u201cfollow me<\/b>.\u201d That\u2019s why we\u2019re often referred to as \u2018followers\u2019 of Jesus. What\u2019s so important about that? The command to \u201cfollow me\u201d is a continuous, lifelong journey. Giving your heart to Jesus isn\u2019t the end of the race; it\u2019s the beginning.<\/p>\n

That same mindset must become yours when it comes to the Philippians 4 Challenge. The Bible\u2019s command to \u201cput into practice\u201d the habits in Philippians 4 isn\u2019t something you can ever truly complete on this side of heaven. The Philippians 4 Challenge isn\u2019t about you completing a task and marking it off your checklist. It\u2019s about instilling new habits and a new way to live. It\u2019s about the journey. Embrace it.<\/p>\n

Father, prepare my mind for the long haul. Give me the persistence, the endurance, the faithfulness to embrace a new way of living. Meet me along the journey and transform me.<\/i><\/p>\n

LIVE IT<\/b><\/p>\n

You\u2019re two weeks into the Challenge! Live out the fourth habit \u201crepeat daily\u201d by finding a way to apply each of the other three habits today: \u201cchoose to be joyful,\u201d \u201cpray with thanksgiving,\u201d and \u201cthink on noble things.\u201d<\/p>\n
