Ten-year-old Braydon Nichols loved his father and was looking forward to when\u00a0Army Chief Warrant Officer Bryan Nichols would\u00a0return from Afghanistan. Then his family got a terrible phone call.<\/p>\n
Braydon took it hard.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
On Sunday morning, was watching the national news broadcast the first reports about the downing of\u00a0the Chinook helicopter his father had been piloting.\u00a0He and his mom, Jessica Nichols,\u00a0listened to reporters say that 38 U.S. and Afghan service personnel were killed, including 22 Navy SEALs. It was the single deadliest loss for American troops since the war in Afghanistan began in late 2001.<\/p>\n
Quietly the boy turned to his mom.<\/p>\n
“Braydon asked me why they weren’t showing his dad’s picture like they were showing some of the other guys.”<\/p>\n
So, the 10-year-old wrote to the Cable News Network — to ask them to show his daddy’s picture, too:\u00a0<\/p>\n
