Wheaton College \u00a0in Chicago’s west suburbs has been\u00a0ranked for the second time in three years as the least “LGBT-friendly college” in America, according to the Princeton Review.<\/em><\/p>\n

LGBT means “lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Wheaton also made the publication’s list of America’s “Best Colleges.”<\/p>\n

The homosexuality advocacy site ChicagoPride.com reports that the Princeton Review<\/em> bases its annual rankings — which measure a number of environmental factors at college campuses throughout the country on questionnaires distributed to 122,000 students throughout the country.<\/p>\n

On its website, the Review<\/em>\u00a0headlines “How to Find Gay-Friendly Colleges” and offers the following list of the most unfriendly colleges to the LBGT cause:<\/p>\n

    On its website, Wheaton College calls itself\u00a0is “an explicitly Christian, academically rigorous, fully residential liberal arts college and graduate school located in Wheaton, Illinois. Established in 1860, Wheaton is guided by its original mission to provide excellence in Christian higher education, and offers more than 40 undergraduate degrees in the liberal arts and sciences, and 14 graduate degrees in psychology and Biblical studies.” \u00a0<\/p>\n

    In addition to making the Princeton Review’s “Best 373 Colleges” in America list for 2011, Wheaton is listed in a number of other college guides”<\/p>\n

    • The 2011 Fiske Guide to Colleges<\/em> includes Wheaton College in its list of 45 Best Buy colleges and universities, based on academic quality in relation to the cost of attendance.<\/li>\n
    • Kiplinger<\/em>‘s ranks Wheaton 22nd for 100 Best Values in Private Colleges. Kiplinger’s rankings measure academic quality and affordability, with quality accounting for two-thirds of the total.<\/li>\n
    • The 2010 U.S. News & World Report<\/em> ranks Wheaton 56 out of more than 260 National Liberal Arts Colleges.<\/li>\n
    • The Insider’s Guide to the Colleges 2011<\/em> observes, \u201cWheaton College changes lives for those who seek its top-notch academics and community committed to the Christian faith.\u201d<\/li>\n
    • Colleges that Change Lives<\/em> includes Wheaton in its select list of 40 schools.<\/li>\n
