{"id":5324,"date":"2011-08-12T13:24:18","date_gmt":"2011-08-12T17:24:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/news\/?p=5324"},"modified":"2011-08-12T14:16:31","modified_gmt":"2011-08-12T18:16:31","slug":"cnn-77-percent-say-congress-behaving-like-spoiled-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/news\/2011\/08\/cnn-77-percent-say-congress-behaving-like-spoiled-children","title":{"rendered":"CNN: 77 percent say Congress behaving like spoiled children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a CNN poll released Tuesday, when asked whether their representatives behaved more like responsible adults or spoiled children over the last few, chaotic days, 77 percent of the public chose the latter.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans and Democrats took about the same heat &#8212; 68 percent for the GOP, 63 for the Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>Congress\u2019s overall approval rating has plummeted, with just 14 percent saying they approve of the job they are doing.<\/p>\n<p>Obama\u00a0isn&#8217;t winning the popularity contest, either,\u00a0with 53 percent disapproving of his handling of the debt ceiling negotiations<\/p>\n<p>The Internet news site the <em>Daily Caller<\/em>\u00a0noted:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Thus far, the past two weeks of negotiations do not seem to have had a negative impact on the president\u2019s overall approval rating, at least according to CNN\u2019s polling.<\/p>\n<p>CNN found his approval remaining steady at 45 percent since the last survey conducted two weeks ago.
