Vladimir Putin was sent to Russia by God, the Kremlin’s top political adviser says.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a Moscow sect reportedly is convinced Putin is the reincarnation of the\u00a0Apostle Paul.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“To be honest, I think of Putin as a person who was sent to Russia by fate and the Almighty at a difficult hour,” Vladislav Surkov, the first deputy administration chief, said on Chechen television, according to the Interfax news agency.<\/p>\n

Surkov serves in the administration of President Dmitry Medvedev but also served\u00a0during\u00a0Putin’s two-year presidential term and is\u00a0considered one of\u00a0Putin’s closest allies.<\/p>\n

Putin stepped down as president and now serves as prime minister. He has not said if he\u00a0will run in the presidential election\u00a0in March.\u00a0He is Russia’s most popular politician, according to polls.<\/p>\n

The Russian media in May reported that a\u00a0 sect is now teaching Putin is actually St. Paul back from the dead.<\/p>\n
