Kansas activists’ hopes\u00a0to be “first abortion-free state” have come up short.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Only hours before new regulations were to take effect, news emerged late Thursday afternoon that Kansas officials reversed their decision to deny Planned Parenthood a license to perform abortions.<\/p>\n

The news of the reversal dampened the celebrations of\u00a0those\u00a0who had expected Kansas to become the United States\u2019 first abortion-free state when the regulations took effect Friday.<\/p>\n

Two\u00a0abortion clinics were denied licenses earlier this month. One has filed suit.<\/p>\n
