A routine legislative prayer took a dramatic turn in Tennessee, as lawmakers walked out of the chamber during a politically charged invocation that quickly ignited controversy.<\/p>\n

The moment unfolded inside the Tennessee House of Representatives in Nashville, where Michael Eric Dyson, an ordained Baptist minister and professor<\/a> at Vanderbilt University, was invited to deliver the opening prayer. He was introduced by Democratic state Rep. Justin J. Pearson, who praised Dyson as a man of faith committed to justice and compassion.<\/p>\n
