Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear recently appeared on an episode of \u201cThe View,\u201d where he made some startling claims about the Bible\u2019s support of transgender treatment on children. Beshear was addressing how his faith informs his political decisions. \u201cPeople want to know what drives us. For me, that’s my faith,\u201d he said. \u201cMost of the decisions I make are based on that Golden Rule that says we love our neighbor as ourself, and that parable of the Good Samaritan that says everyone is our neighbor,” he said. \u201cAnd so, when I’ve taken actions like vetoing the nastiest piece of anti-LGBTQ legislation that ever came through my state, I described it in those terms. I said my faith teaches me that all children are children of God, and I didn’t want people picking on those kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beshear appeared to be referring to Senate Bill 150, which was intended to strengthen parental rights in schools. It also banned healthcare providers from administering puberty blockers or conducting gender surgeries on minors. Beshear vetoed the bill in 2023, claiming that the legislation would \u201ccause an increase in suicide among Kentucky’s youth.\u201d The Kentucky General Assembly was later able to override Beshear\u2019s veto and the bill became law. Beshear also vetoed House Bill 495 which banned taxpayer-funded transgender procedures. The General Assembly also overturned that veto.<\/p>\n

Theologian and president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky Al Mohler had strong words<\/a> against Beshear\u2019s use of the Bible to affirm gender surgeries. \u201cThese days, it’s hard to be astounded by something absolutely ridiculous, or worse, coming from an officeholder when it comes to political office,” he said. \u201cAnd frankly, if you’re coming up with a catalog of stupid things said on programs like ABC’s ‘The View,’ you’d better get ready for a very long list. But I don’t care how long your list is, this one’s going to rank at the top of stupid.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDemocrat KY Gov. Andy Beshear twists Christianity to push transgender surgeries on minors, claiming: \u2018My faith teaches me that all children are children of God\u2019 while vetoing protections against anti-LGBTQ madness,\u201d wrote Reverend Jordan Wells on X<\/a>. \u201cDemocrats love mangling Scripture to justify pure evil\u2014calling it \u2018love\u2019 while promoting demonic agendas. The Bible is crystal clear: There are ONLY TWO GENDERS, created by God Himself. They hyped Beshear as a \u2018moderate,\u2019 but now that he can’t run again in Kentucky, the real radical is unmasked. Wake up, Church!
