As concern deepens over the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, her Arizona church is responding the only way it says it knows how \u2014 through prayer, unity, and trust in God amid what leaders have described as a “horrific ordeal.”<\/p>\n

During Sunday morning worship at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Pastor John Tittle paused the service to acknowledge the ongoing search for the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie and to ask congregants to continue praying for her safe return. Speaking with visible emotion, Tittle said the church is standing closely with the Guthrie family while also honoring their request for privacy.<\/p>\n

“We continue to pray and to stand with Nancy Guthrie and her family,” Tittle told the congregation. “It was communicated to me, pray. So we’re going to keep praying through this horrific ordeal.”<\/p>\n

Tittle then invited worshippers to pray aloud with him, asking God to rescue and protect Nancy Guthrie. “Bring her home safely,” he said, before turning his focus to those leading the investigation. “Lord God, bless and guide the authorities in their search for Nancy. Give them wisdom along every step of the path to her.”<\/p>\n

The pastor also prayed for a change of heart among whoever is responsible for Guthrie’s disappearance, asking God to “soften the hearts of those who are responsible, that they might come forward and do what is humane and what is right,” and concluded the prayer in the name of Jesus.<\/p>\n

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing last week after authorities said she was believed to have been taken from her home outside Tucson, Arizona. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos later confirmed that DNA testing showed blood found on her front porch matched Guthrie’s, a development that has heightened fears for her safety.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, Savannah Guthrie appeared in a social media video alongside her siblings, addressing whoever may be holding their mother. In a direct, emotional plea, she said the family had received a message and was prepared to pay to secure Nancy’s safe return. “This is the only way we will have peace,” Guthrie said. “This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”<\/p>\n

Her statement referred to a communication sent to Tucson television station KOLD, which has declined to release details as federal authorities review the message. Law enforcement officials have since confirmed they are investigating multiple tips after reports that several media outlets received alleged ransom letters. At least one letter reportedly included monetary demands and deadlines, though authorities have not verified the authenticity of any of the correspondence.<\/p>\n

Investigators have also expressed growing concern about Nancy Guthrie’s health. Officials have said she requires daily medication and has a pacemaker, along with a history of high blood pressure and other heart-related issues, adding urgency to the search.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the sheriff’s activity at Guthrie’s home intensified. Multiple marked vehicles were seen outside the residence around midday, and at least two individuals were observed entering the back of the home for more than 20 minutes before leaving without comment.<\/p>\n

For her church community, however, the focus remains both spiritual and practical.
