As young women continue their liberal slide, an increasing number of them want to leave the United States permanently. A recent Gallup poll<\/a> asked, \u201cIdeally, if you had the opportunity, would you like to move PERMANENTLY to another country, or would you prefer to continue living in this country?\u201d Overall, 20% of Americans affirmed that they would leave, which was nearly triple from the 7% who agreed in 2014. The spike was led in particular amongst young women aged 15 to 44, with 40% expressing a desire to leave. In 2014, only 10% of women in that age range said they would move. Only 19% of men aged 15 to 44 shared the sentiment in 2025, which had also increased from 6% in 2014. Gallup reported it\u2019s the largest gap between the two genders to date.<\/p>\n

The increase in young women wanting to leave began towards the end of President Barack Obama\u2019s second term and the rise of Donald Trump to the presidency. It peaked in 2024 at 44%. While the number of young women wanting to leave declined slightly between 2024 and 2025, the number rose sharply amongst women 45 and up, jumping from 6% in 2024 to 14% in 2025. There is also not much difference in marital status, with 45% of women aged 18-44 who are single\/ never married sharing a desire to move while 41% of their married counterparts affirmed the same. 40% of those with younger children at home stated they would move permanently if they could.<\/p>\n

Canada was the top choice amongst women of which country they would move to. Other contenders were Japan, Italy, and New Zealand. The percentage of US women who would leave is relatively high compared to other countries with so-called advanced economies. In other such countries, around 20% to 30% of young women express a desire to leave their country permanently. This may be reflective of the declining faith American women have in US institutions. According to Gallup, <\/em>young women\u2019s scores on the National Institutions Index had dropped from 57 in 2015 to 40 in 2025. That number had only dropped slightly amongst young men, from 54 to 53 and had risen amongst men 45 and older from 49 to 64.<\/p>\n

Conservatives scoffed at the figure, linking it to Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). Conservative Libby Emmons stated that the majority of women wanting to leave had no idea what other countries are like for women. \u201cThese women are out of their minds,\u201d she told Real America\u2019s Voice<\/em><\/a>.<\/em> \u201cWe owe it to our kids to let them know that America is a great place to live – if only they would wise up and stop believing every lie.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
