Turek was a close friend and spiritual mentor of Kirk\u2019s and was present the day he was assassinated on September 10. Turek has spoken openly about Kirk\u2019s last minutes as they rushed him to the hospital. \u201cCharlie wasn&#8217;t there. His eyes were fixed,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/rVaxvKtw5NQ\">Turek said<\/a> of how he frantically tried to stop Kirk\u2019s bleeding on the way to the hospital. \u201cHe wasn&#8217;t looking at me. He was looking past me, right into eternity. He was with Jesus already. He was killed instantly and felt absolutely no pain. That&#8217;s what I was told later. But of course, we had to try.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/bible-supports-capital-punishment-charlie-kirks-killer-says-frank-turek\"><em>Fox News Digital<\/em><\/a>, Turek discussed the Biblical defense for capital punishment. \u201cObviously, we have to do this advisedly. We have to make sure beyond any reasonable doubt that the person is indeed guilt,\u201d he cautioned. He cited Romans 13, where the government is noted to \u201cbear the sword,\u201d stating that was a reference to capital punishment. He noted, however, that the government and individual have different roles in justice. \u201cPeople will say, \u2018What about turn the other cheek?\u2019 This is where people don&#8217;t seem to understand,\u201d he said. \u201cThere are different commands for individuals and different commands for government. If governments were to always turn the other cheek, we would have anarchy, nobody would be secure, people would be murdered, people would be raped, people would have their livelihoods stolen from them.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DrFrankTurek\/status\/1987620710123192830\">Posting to X<\/a>, Turek affirmed that he was in favor of seeking the death penalty for Kirk\u2019s killer. \u201cCharlie Kirk\u2019s killer should get the death penalty. Jesus and Paul affirmed it is a legitimate punishment,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Kirk himself, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ChrissieMayr\/status\/1968354177207435650\">affirmed support<\/a> for the death penalty prior to his death. \u201cGod repeated in all five books of the Torah, \u2018You take a life, your life will be taken,\u2019\u201d Kirk told a person who questioned him on being pro-life and pro death penalty. Kirk\u2019s widow, Erika Kirk, deferred the decision to the government. During her first public interview since her husband\u2019s murder, <em>Fox News\u2019s <\/em>Jesse Watters, she responded to what she believes Robinson\u2019s fate should be. \u201cI do not want this man\u2019s blood on my ledger when I stand before the Lord,\u201d she said. \u201cI want the government to decide. It\u2019s Biblical too.
