Sebastian Gorka, national security consultant and conservative commentator, drew a striking comparison between former President Donald Trump and Jesus Christ during a speech<\/a> at the Conservative Political Action Conference’s Summit on Ending Christian Persecution. Speaking at the Kennedy Center, Gorka described what he called a “Christ-like” moment that revealed Trump’s “self-sacrifice” and deep compassion for ordinary Americans.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the months leading up to the 2024 election, Gorka shared a story about Trump visiting a McDonald’s drive-thru in Pennsylvania. While serving customers, Trump met an Asian immigrant who thanked him for “doing everything you do for nobodies like us.” According to Gorka, Trump quickly replied, “No one in America is a nobody.” The man’s wife then expressed her gratitude for Trump “taking a bullet for us,” referencing the July 2024 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, when a bullet grazed Trump during a campaign rally. Gorka said Trump’s quiet acknowledgment \u2014 “Yeah, I guess I did” \u2014 reflected an “utterly Christian moment.”<\/p>\n

“In fact, it was an utter Christ-like moment,” Gorka said, likening Trump’s calm humility and willingness to face danger to an act of self-sacrifice. He went on to compare Trump’s strength to that of Aslan, the lion from C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia<\/em>, a character long recognized as a representation of Jesus Christ. “What he did that day evinced the heart of a lion, and a lion like Aslan,” Gorka said.<\/p>\n

Gorka’s remarks touched on a recurring theme among Trump’s supporters who have, over the years, likened him to biblical figures such as Nehemiah, Samson, or Cyrus the Great \u2014 the Persian ruler who allowed the Jewish people to return from exile in Babylon. Critics, however, argue that such comparisons go too far and blur the line between faith and politics. Still, Gorka maintained that Trump’s willingness to continue campaigning and leading after the attack was evidence of a servant heart and courage rooted in conviction.<\/p>\n

The former White House advisor also reflected on one of Trump’s earlier speeches in Warsaw, Poland, during his first term, when Trump declared, “The greatest question of the age is whether or not we in the West have the will to fight and defeat those which wish to destroy our civilization.” Gorka said those words remain just as relevant today, pointing to threats from terrorism, drug cartels, and communist ideology both abroad and within the U.S.<\/p>\n

“We are part of the greatest civilization the world has ever seen,” Gorka said. “Judeo-Christian civilization is the ultimate form of human existence known to man.” He emphasized that the core struggle facing America and its allies is spiritual, arguing that “the one thing that binds the enemies of truth is their denial of God Himself.”<\/p>\n

“God is truth,” Gorka declared. “If God is truth and you’re a communist, if you’re an atheist, if you’re an anti-American, you have to deny His existence.”<\/p>\n

Closing his address, Gorka urged his audience to remember Trump’s humility in that McDonald’s drive-thru \u2014 a moment he called symbolic of courage, sacrifice, and service. “When you have those dark moments, when you think, ‘What more can I give?'” he said, “think of that comment.
