Days after its planned rebranded logo blew up the internet, Cracker Barrel has reversed course. The chain had attempted to rebrand itself with a new modern look, unveiling an updated logo that was completely devoid of the \u201cold timer\u201d sitting by the barrel. The look spawned outrage across the internet, with memes abounding to mock the new look. Even Steak & Shake had some harsh words criticizing the move in a statement. \u201cSometimes, people want to change things just to put their own personality on things. At CB, their goal is to just delete the personality altogether. Hence, the elimination of the \u2018old-timer\u2019 from the signage. Heritage is what got Cracker Barrel this far, and now the CEO wants to just scrape it all away,\u201d the company wrote<\/a>. President Trump entered the debate as well, offering some sage advice to Cracker Barrel on Truth Social. \u201cCracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before. They got a Billion Dollars worth of free publicity if they play their cards right. Very tricky to do, but a great opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cracker Barrel initially downplayed the backlash as a \u201cvocal minority.\u201d Sarah Moore, Cracker Barrel’s chief marketing officer, said the change was “bringing fresh energy, thoughtful craftsmanship and heartfelt hospitality to our guests.\u201d \u201cAll of the elements of our remodels were informed by direct input from our guests and team members alike. These changes are for them,\u201d a spokesperson told Fox News Digital<\/em><\/a>. Some liberal outlets framed the backlash as MAGA outrage.<\/p>\n

By Tuesday, however, the company had changed its tune. \u201cWe thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have.\u00a0 Our new logo is going away and our \u2018Old Timer\u2019 will remain,\u201d the company wrote in a statement. \u201cAt Cracker Barrel, it\u2019s always been \u2013 and always will be \u2013 about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family.\u00a0 As a proud American institution, our 70,000 hardworking employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon.\u201d By Wednesday, the company\u2019s shares, which had dipped precipitously with the announcement of the new logo, were on the uptick. President Trump applauded the company\u2019s reversal. \u201cCongratulations \u2018Cracker Barrel\u2019 on changing your logo back to what it was,\u201d he wrote on Truth Social<\/a>. \u201cAll of your fans very much appreciate it.
