John Pavlovitz, the former youth pastor at megachurch Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in North Carolina who was fired for his \u201cprovocative\u201d posts, recently blasted supporters of President Trump as not \u201cgood people.\u201d Writing for his Substack<\/a>, \u201cThe Beautiful Mess,\u201d Pavlovitz entitled the article \u201cNo, Good People Don’t Still Support Him\u201d with an ominous photo of the current president. \u201cI often hear people say, \u2018He or she supports him but is a really good person,\u2019\u201d wrote Pavlovitz. \u201cI consider that an oxymoron. I believe aligning with him is fundamentally antithetical to anything good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pavlovitz then listed out a series of things that \u201cgood people\u201d do not do. \u201cGood people don\u2019t indiscriminately round up human beings, separate them from their families, and throw them into stifling dog kennels or ship them to foreign countries without due process,\u201d he wrote. He added that good people don\u2019t fire certain public servants, physicians and scientists, don\u2019t erase protections for certain minority groups or clean air, or platform Nazis and white supremacists, amongst a bevvy of things that Pavlovitz appears to imply President Trump and his supporters do. \u201cBut this President is not a good human being, and there’s simply no way around this truth,\u201d Pavlovitz concluded. \u201cObjectively speaking, he is the very worst humanity has produced, a moral bottom-feeder without scruples or conscience or decency. Outside of those indoctrinated into his dwindling, sycophantic death cult, the entire world is in agreement on this.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is not the first time Pavlovitz has attacked Trump or his supporters. In 2017, he wrote for his blog \u201cStuff that Needs to be Said\u201d that \u201cIt\u2019s time we stopped calling Donald Trump a Christian.\u201d And while he lost his job in evangelical circles, he has become a darling of progressive churches, with his support for LGBTQ rights and being a self-proclaimed \u201cradical woke leftist.\u201d He has also accused the 2024 election results as being falsified. His critics have accused him of \u201cjumping the shark<\/a>.\u201d \u201cBesides insisting he\u2019s \u201cnot a conspiracy theorist\u201d (which is what a conspiracy theorist tends to say before launching into a conspiracy theory), Pavlovitz\u2019s \u201cargument\u201d boils down to a gut feeling that Trump couldn\u2019t have won all seven swing states. Instead of statistics, all we apparently need is vibes,\u201d noted one of his critics.<\/p>\n

Oddly enough, the Bible would be in agreement with Pavlovitz. In Mark 10:17, a man approaches Jesus and calls him \u201cgood teacher.\u201d Jesus, however, responds that there are no good people, Pavlovitz and the President\u2019s staunchest critics included. \u201cWhy callest thou me good?\u201d he asks. \u201cThere is none good but one, that is, God.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
