Hillary Clinton\u2019s attempt to dunk on President Trump\u2019s military parade backfired into accusations of her own contempt for the US military. Clinton took to social media<\/a> with images of the planned \u201cNo Kings\u201d protests and the military parade celebrating the US army\u2019s 250th<\/sup> birthday. \u201cCompare and contrast scenes from yesterday in America,\u201d wrote Clinton. \u201cOn the one hand, Trump’s low-energy Dear Leader parade (that cost you $45 million). On the other, millions of people across the country gathering peacefully to say: Here, we have no kings.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the administration, about 250,000 people attended the parade. Trump\u2019s critics, however, have been quick to claim that attendance of the event was \u201cunderwhelming.\u201d \u201cDespite Trump\u2019s attempts to hype the event, attendance appeared light \u2014 there were considerably fewer people on the National Mall on Saturday than there would be for a typical Fourth of July celebration. And attendance at Trump\u2019s parade was dwarfed by the millions who showed up at roughly 2,000 anti-Trump \u201cNo Kings\u201d protests in cities and towns all over the country,\u201d wrote Huffington Post<\/em><\/a>. It was noted that the VIP bleachers for the event were \u201cbarely full.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conservatives were quick to turn the conversation on Clinton. \u201cThis witch was a few votes away from becoming commander in chief. This is what she thinks of our military. Man, @BuzzPatterson was right. Hillary hates the troops,” said conservative commentator Benny Johnson. \u201cHillary Clinton hates the troops, bigtime,\u201d wrote Eric Daughtery<\/a>. \u201cUtter contempt for the 250th birthday of the @USArmy,\u201d wrote another user. Clinton eventually turned off comments on the post, which only increased criticism against her.<\/p>\n

Her critics were quick to bring up Benghazi. Clinton faced criticism as Secretary of State under Obama when protestors overran the US Embassy in Benghazi in 2012<\/a>. Four Americans were killed during the attack, despite requests for additional security before the attack. Clinton faced harsh criticism at the time for her apparent lack of response and her waffling of excuses as to why the attack even happened in the first place. \u201cYes !! Remember Benghazi,\u201d wrote one of her critics. Others criticized her attendance at the wedding of Huma Abedin and Alex Soros.
