In a significant development, the Colleyville Police Department in Texas has officially closed its investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse involving the founding family of Daystar Television Network. Authorities cited a lack of evidence to proceed with charges.<\/p>\n

The investigation, which lasted over a year, was initiated after Jonathan Lamb, son of Daystar founders Marcus and Joni Lamb, and his wife, Suzy, publicly accused Daystar leaders of covering up abuse involving their daughter. Sgt. Dara Nelson, public information officer for the Colleyville Police Department, stated that detectives found “insufficient evidence” and noted that the alleged victim had not made an outcry.<\/p>\n

“After a thorough investigation, no evidence of a crime was obtained,” Nelson said in a statement. She added that Texas has no statute of limitations for child sexual abuse, leaving the door open for the case to be revisited if new evidence surfaces.<\/p>\n

Daystar Television Network, headquartered in Bedford, Texas, has consistently denied any wrongdoing. In a statement posted<\/a> to X, Daystar leaders expressed gratitude for the support received from viewers and ministry partners.<\/p>\n

“Although saddened by those who were led to believe the gossip, rumors, and false allegations promulgated on social media, Daystar appreciates the love and support it has received and will continue its mission to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ around the world,” the statement read.<\/p>\n

The allegations emerged amid a larger power struggle<\/a> between Jonathan Lamb and his mother, Joni, over control of Daystar following the death<\/a> of Marcus Lamb in 2021. Jonathan, who was fired from the network in November 2024, claims his dismissal stemmed from his refusal to sign a nondisclosure agreement after raising concerns about a relative’s alleged misconduct.<\/p>\n

Joni Lamb, who serves as Daystar’s president, countered the claims, stating that her son was fired for performance issues and because of unresolved anger over not being named his father’s successor. In a video message last fall, Joni Lamb accused Jonathan of fabricating a smear campaign rather than addressing his job performance.<\/p>\n

The controversy has impacted Daystar’s standing among prominent Christian leaders, with some distancing themselves from the network. Joyce Meyer, a well-known preacher, was among those who took a step back<\/a> after the allegations surfaced.<\/p>\n

Despite the investigation’s closure, Suzy Lamb took to social media to express her dissatisfaction with the outcome. She described the police decision as a “formality” and insisted that the case would be reopened when her daughter was ready to speak.<\/p>\n

“When our child is ready to speak \u2013 she will, and the case will be wide open again,” she wrote. “Till then, we rest and trust God to bring justice.”<\/p>\n

Daystar reiterated its commitment to addressing all allegations of sexual misconduct seriously. The network confirmed that the accused relative, identified only as “Pete,” cooperated fully with the investigation.<\/p>\n

“As it has said from day one, Daystar Television Network takes all allegations of sexual misconduct very seriously. We grieve for and give credence to the voice of every victim of abuse,” the network stated.<\/p>\n
