Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, publicly thanked a pastor who prayed for a “hedge of protection” over him, his family, and his team during a campaign town hall in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The moment, which was captured on video and shared widely on social media, drew the attention of Christians across the country\u2014and sparked renewed prayer for Musk from prominent Christian leaders.<\/p>\n

The event, held in support of conservative Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Brad Schimel, drew over 2,000 attendees. During a Q&A portion, one man asked if his father, a pastor, could offer a prayer for Musk. Musk welcomed the gesture.<\/p>\n

The pastor, wearing a white clerical collar, stepped forward and prayed boldly in Jesus’ name. He thanked Musk for his courage and framed the spiritual battle in stark terms: “There’s something evil that has come against our country, our morals, our families… and then you and the president and others are getting attacked with this outrage and this hate.”<\/p>\n

He continued, “We ask that you envelop and protect all of those who are fighting for justice, for freedom, for order, for dignity… Especially put your hedge of protection around Elon Musk, around his children, around his whole entire family, and all of his team members.”<\/p>\n

The pastor concluded by invoking Jesus’ name and praying for national repentance: “May you wash away all that is wrong with our country and start with us.”<\/p>\n

Musk bowed his head during the prayer and, visibly moved, responded afterward: “That was beautiful. I think we’re going to need Divine protection, frankly.”<\/p>\n

The exchange didn’t go unnoticed. On the same day, Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse and a leading evangelical voice, urged believers to pray for Musk amid increasing hostility toward him.<\/p>\n

“Elon Musk is taking a lot of heat for leading the efforts to cut waste in our government,” Graham wrote on X. “Even though he is a very smart and gifted man, he still needs wisdom from God. Let’s ask God to lead him, protect him, and give him wisdom. No question, there is power in prayer.”<\/p>\n

Graham noted that Musk has been the target of vandalism and public scorn due to his support for government reform and his alliance with President Donald Trump. Musk recently acknowledged his work has become “very difficult” as he manages multiple companies, including his involvement with DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency).<\/p>\n

Though Musk has said he is “not a particularly religious person,” he has often praised the values of Christianity. In a 2024 interview with psychologist Jordan Peterson, Musk described himself as a “cultural Christian” and spoke admiringly of Jesus’ teachings.<\/p>\n
