Paula White-Cain, President Trump\u2019s chief faith advisor, is being blasted for soliciting $1,000 donations in exchange for \u201csupernatural blessings.\u201d On White\u2019s YouTube channel<\/a>, she is promoting a special offer for the \u201cPassover season.\u201d \u201cI believe that when you honor God on Passover starting on April 12th at sundown through Good Friday on the 18th and concluding on Easter Sunday, you can receive these seven supernatural blessings for you and your house,\u201d she says in the video.<\/p>\n

Citing Exodus 23, White outlines the blessings as \u201cGod will assign an angel to you. He’ll be an enemy to your enemies. He’ll give you prosperity. He’ll take sickness away from you. He will give you long life. He’ll bring increase in inheritance, and He’ll give a special year of blessing.\u201d White seemed to imply that a $1,000 donation to her ministry would offer guaranteed blessings by encouraging her followers by \u201crealizing what you can receive for your special Passover offering of $1,000 or more as the Holy Spirit leads you.\u201d She outlined several giving tiers that her viewers could sign up for, with each tier offering more and more gifts, such as an olive wood communion set or a \u201cbeautiful 10-inch Waterford Crystal cross.\u201d<\/p>\n

Christians were quick to blast White, whom has been criticized for promoting the prosperity gospel. \u201cDear @realDonaldTrump, please remove Paula White,\u201d wrote Pastor Gabriel Hughes on X.<\/a> \u201cShe’s a false teacher. Appoint a godly man who preaches Christ and Him crucified for our sins (Voddie Baucham?). Brethren, have nothing to do with this woman. In seeking a seat at the table, she doesn’t help you\u2014you help her.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for White pushed back against criticism. \u201cThis story is a deceptive smear,\u201d said the spokesperson, noting that \u201cPastor White specifically says in the very same video, \u2018you\u2019re not doing this to get something,\u2019 and the solicitation, which was later in the program, makes it clear that any donation to the ministry should only be \u2018as the Holy Spirit leads.\u2019\u201d The spokesperson also claimed that donations \u201cdo not directly benefit Pastor White.\u201d Allie Beth Stuckey addressed the controversy<\/a> on her podcast and warned against expecting blessings in exchange for financial donations. \u201cThese are heretical teachings that lead straight to hell.
