This year, Chick-fil-A was dethroned by not just one \u2014 but two \u2014 competitors. Mexican chain Del Taco\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/10best.usatoday.com\/awards\/travel\/best-fast-food-restaurant-2024\/\">took the top spot<\/a>, with <em>USA Today<\/em> readers choosing chicken-themed hot spot KFC as the second most popular fast-food chain.<\/p>\n<p>Del Taco has just 600 locations across 16 states, while KFC has a staggering 25,000 locations globally. Meanwhile, Chick-fil-A falls somewhere between the two, with 3,000 restaurants, WRKC-TV\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.local12.com\/news\/offbeat\/chick-fil-a-del-taco-kentucky-fried-chicken-kfc-dethroned-americas-favorite-fast-food-restaurant-after-9-long-years-fast-foodies-food-affordable-burritos-mexican-quesadillas-vegetarian-menus-report-rating-ranking-loyal-customer-base-voting-decision-place\">reported<\/a>. \u201cIt takes a tremendous amount of hard work and preparation to deliver that sort of speed, quality, and scale,\u201d reads a description by USA Today,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/10best.usatoday.com\/awards\/travel\/best-fast-food-restaurant-2024\/\">noting each<\/a>\u00a0of the restaurants on its top-10 list was \u201cvoted by readers as the best in the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZUdqlbQfWyg?si=8WEIzHM4iPYl7QNC\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Chick-fil-A\u2019s bump to the third spot was shocking, considering the restaurant\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.local12.com\/news\/offbeat\/chick-fil-a-del-taco-kentucky-fried-chicken-kfc-dethroned-americas-favorite-fast-food-restaurant-after-9-long-years-fast-foodies-food-affordable-burritos-mexican-quesadillas-vegetarian-menus-report-rating-ranking-loyal-customer-base-voting-decision-place\">spent nine years<\/a>\u00a0dominating the best fast-food restaurant list. However, fans shouldn\u2019t be too worried; Chick-fil-A is faring quite well financially.
