Joy Behar, co-host of “The View” is receiving backlash after she made a comment about Donald Trump after his recent assassination attempt. Behar slammed the former president by describing him as “very narcissistic” after he claimed he survived his assassination attempt to “God being on his side.” Trump acknowledged his Christian faith in a speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, his first speech after the assassination attempt. “Bullets continued to fly as very brave Secret Service agents rushed to the stage and pounced on top of me for protection. There was blood pouring everywhere, and yet, in a certain way I felt very safe, because I had God on my side. The amazing thing is that prior to the shot, if I had NOT moved my head at the very last instant, the assassin’s bullet would have perfectly hit its mark, and I would not be with you tonight.” Behar criticized Trump’s statement by saying his words were “very unchristian” and “very narcissistic.”<\/p>\n

Before ‘The View” went on an ad break, Behar shared her full thoughts on the situation. \u00a0“What I want to point out, one thing. I’m speaking to fellow Christians, I was raised Catholic. I’m a Christian girl. When something like this happens to you like this assassination attempt and you say something like ‘God was watching me,’ that is a very unchristian thing to say because it’s very narcissistic.” She continued, “What about Corey Comperatore? What’s his name? Comperatore, the fireman who also got killed? What about all those guys that got killed in Sandy Hook? All of those people? ‘Oh, God was watching me and not watching them?’ There’s something very disturbing about that.”<\/p>\n

Many viewers were outraged by Behar’s statements. “‘If there ever was an example of someone NOT a Christian it would be Joy Behar so she should stop claiming she is… She should be fired,” one user wrote.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
