\nSTOCKHOLM – A Swedish university has invited an artist who angered Muslims by caricaturing the Prophet Muhammad to finish a lecture that was disrupted by violent protests.
\nOfficials say Lars Vilks has agreed to return to Uppsala University in the fall to complete his lecture about the limits of freedom of expression in art.
\nAngry protesters interrupted the lecture May 11 when Vilks showed a film about Islam and homosexuality.
\nVilks, who infuriated Muslims in 2007 for portraying Muhammad as a dog, was escorted from the building by bodyguards as police held back protesters.
\nThe university said Tuesday that people shouldn’t be silenced by “violence and threats.” It said police and university officials will review the security situation before the new lecture.
