Krystal “Krissy” Anderson, a former Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader, has sadly passed away at the age of 40 after giving birth to a stillborn child. According to a GoFundMe<\/a> post for Anderson, The cause was sepsis. “On March 20, 2024, Krissy\u2019s journey took an unexpected turn. After a brave battle against sepsis, she was called back to Heaven. Her strength and resilience were evident as she faced unimaginable challenges,” the post read. “Krissy sought out hospitalization during her 21st week of pregnancy, and despite the trauma of losing her baby girl, Charlotte, during childbirth, she fought on. Her fight with sepsis, led to organ failure, and she was placed on life support. Krissy underwent three surgeries, but the source of infection remained elusive. In the early hours of March 20, surrounded by her devoted family, sweet Krissy passed away.”<\/p>\n

According to her obituary, Anderson received a computer science degree from the University of Richmond where she was “awarded a patent for developing software that assesses the risk of post-partum hemorrhage.\u201d Anderson performed during more than 100 games for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2006-11 and 2013-16. She \u201cwas loved and adored by her teammates, fans, and strangers who were never strangers for long,\u201d said Chiefs Cheer in an Instagram post. \u201cAfter her time as a cheerleader, she continued to share her love of dance and Chiefs Cheer by serving in an alumni role on game day, practices, and at events. We will miss her kind spirit, joyful energy, and her sparkle.\u201d<\/p>\n
