January 22nd<\/sup> marked the anniversary of the Supreme Court\u2019s decision in Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion throughout the country. It also marked the commencement of the annual Walk for Life events in Washington, D.C. and San Francisco. Kaya Jones, a former member of the pop group Pussycat Dolls, shared her experiences and regrets from her own abortions at the San Francisco event on January 20th<\/sup>. Jones shared how she had her first abortion at just 16 years old. \u201cIt harmed me, and I felt like as though someone had took something that had always belonged in my body,\u201d she told<\/a> the crowd. \u201cI remember waking up and feeling like someone took my rib or my kidney, and it was never going to come back \u2026 I don\u2019t know the death date of my first child, and I will never know the birth date. There\u2019s no grave I can go to, to mourn the death,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

At 19, she became pregnant again just as her career was taking off with the Pussycat Dolls. She told the crowd she was told to \u201cget rid of it.\u201d \u201cI come from an industry that promotes abortion,\u201d she said. \u201cIf you want to have a baby and you want to be a recording artist and successful, they encourage that you abort.\u201d Speaking to Tucker Carlson last April, Jones said that the industry essentially forces women into abortion. \u201cA majority of the women do not have children. I mean, that’s the pressures and the forcing abortions. And, you know, you’re fired if you’re pregnant,\u201d she told<\/a> Carlson. She stated the industry\u2019s control of singers felt like slavery. \u201cIt felt like we were slaves to\u2026 the evil that runs this planet. You know, I don’t think it’s a group of people, per se. I think evil runs rampant when we don’t do anything about it. And as Christians, we need to do something about it,\u201d she said. Speaking to the crowd in San Francisco, she shared her regrets in choosing abortion. \u201cI have a Grammy, but none of it will bring my children back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones grew up in a Christian family but fell away from Christianity after her parents divorced. Speaking to The Christian Post<\/em><\/a> about her faith, she said her music career only exacerbated the distance between her and God. \u201cI joined the Pussycat Dolls and was not serving God but rather myself. I knew I wasn\u2019t following God\u2019s plan for me,\u201d she said. After leaving the group, Jones began to speak more openly about her faith. During the coronavirus pandemic, she stayed with her boyfriend\u2019s father, who had terminal cancer, and witnessed him speaking to angel\u2019s. The experience spurred her on to further Bible study and she was baptized in 2021<\/a>. Her recommitment to her faith and her personal experiences have brought her to the pro-life movement where she speaks out about the regrets of having an abortion. A study that appeared in Cureus<\/em><\/a> last May showed that 60% of women who had abortions \u201cwould have preferred to give birth if they had received more support from others or had more financial security.\u201d 24% felt forced into their abortions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
