A company co-founded by former U.S. Navy SEALs is using artificial intelligence, or AI, to protect faith-based schools and churches from potential attacks. As concerns increase over mass shootings, ZeroEyees co-founder Rob Huberty told \u201cThe 700 Club\u201d that his company is using AI to protect potential targets like houses of worship and schools.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cWe take your existing video cameras, and we process every frame-by-frame, every image, every video feed that you have. We use our AI that goes over them, and what it does is it looks for guns that are exposed.\u201d ZeroEyes pinpoints the types of guns being brandished and alerts first responders within seconds about the nature of potential threats as well as the types of weapons assailants might have.<\/p>\n

Dominic Iocco, president of Lansing Catholic High School in Michigan and a ZeroEyes user, said the product offers peace of mind to his school community. He said, \u201cMy initial reaction was basically \u2014 \u2018How can we not do this? Especially when you look at the tragic history of these types of scenarios, and you see the advantage of the response time that AI gives you.\u201d He continued, \u201cAs an administrator of a school, obviously, you never want something like this to ever happen, but you also want to know that you\u2019ve done everything possible to make the school as safe as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matt Montana, safety director at Valley Baptist Church in Bakersfield, California, agrees. He said, \u201cPeople want to do us harm, and when I say us, I mean men and women, the Christian faith because we live in a broken world. There\u2019s a lot of sin out there, and the innocence is preyed upon.\u201d Montana\u2019s church is preparing to roll out ZeroEyes. As a former law enforcement officer, Montana said the real-time intelligence capabilities can help mitigate potential threats and save lives.<\/p>\n
