She said, \u201cIt\u2019s difficult. And it\u2019s hard, but listen, I just want to encourage you that you are not the only one, and there are lots of us, and we are always stronger together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cFull House\u201d actress also talked about how hard it is to stick by her Christian beliefs. She said, \u201cIt\u2019s hard, no matter what. Especially when you are a compassionate person and have a heart for people, but it\u2019s important that we speak truth in love because, listen, nobody\u2019s going to change, nobody\u2019s going to listen to you when it comes out angry when it comes out in a harsh way. Still, it\u2019s important that we don\u2019t back down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bure was in the hot seat last year after she told the Wall Street Journal that Great American Family content, where the actress serves as the chief creative officer, wouldn\u2019t feature LGBTQ storylines. In the interview, Bure said, \u201cI think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her comment sparked controversy, and Bure responded shortly after\u00a0in a statement\u00a0saying she has \u201cgreat love and affection for all people. It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone.\u201d The actress was previously a mainstay on Hallmark Channel, which aired its first original movie featuring a same-sex couple, \u201cThe Holiday Sitter,\u201d in 2022.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hHkoI3IyXUs\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>On the podcast,\u00a0Bure explained\u00a0the importance of her faith and knowing where to draw \u201cthe line in the sand.\u201d She said, \u201cIf you know what your boundaries are, that\u2019s the most important. Because if you don\u2019t make them for yourself, the entertainment industry will make them for you. And that\u2019s what you don\u2019t want.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bure has been focused on\u00a0faith-based projects, she explained in the interview, and encouraged others to follow their dreams and faith in Hollywood. \u201cThere are lots of Christians in the entertainment industry,\u201d she said. \u201cSome of them you have to find. Some of them are not as outspoken as others because of the stigmas that might be around being a Christian in entertainment. But there are lots of us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 46-year-old explained that she felt a calling to bring her faith to the entertainment industry after taking a break to raise her family after\u00a0\u201cFull House\u201d ended its run. \u201cWhen I came back into the industry, I clearly knew my purpose in the industry and just saw that as the battlefield,\u201d she said. \u201cThat was where I could go and make a difference in the art of my work that I get to do and look at it through a new lens, and that was to share the Lord with people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bure is a mother of three to Natasha, 24; Lev, 22; and Maksim, 21, with her husband, Valeri Bure. \u201cI am so encouraged by my own children,\u201d she said in the interview. \u201cI\u2019m so proud of them for really sticking to the truth and knowing the gospel and being willing to share that because I know it takes bravery, especially in the time we\u2019re living today.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Candace Cameron Bure believes that \u201ccancel culture\u2019s real\u201d after dealing with backlash on her comments about \u201ctraditional marriage.\u201d The actress discussed the issue on an episode of the \u201cUnapologetic with Julia Jeffress Sadler\u201d podcast.
