Pence to convene and mobilize the principal officers of the executive departments of the Cabinet to activate section 4 of the 25th Amendment to declare President Donald J. Trump incapable of executing the duties of his office and to immediately exercise powers as acting President.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">All 222 House Democrats voted in favor of it, and all but one House Republican voted against it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This recommendation comes less than a week following the U.S. Capitol siege, as Congress was certifying the Electoral College votes for the 2020 presidential election, calling Joe Biden to be the next president.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This storming of the Capitol followed the president\u2019s speech at the Save America March attended by thousands of his supporters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The president has been highly criticized for his role in inciting the Jan.6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, which resulted in the death of five people and dozens more injured.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following the House\u2019s resolution advising Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment against President Donald Trump, Pence referenced Scripture when explaining why he would not take this action, the\u00a0Christian Post\u00a0reports.
