Evangelist Franklin Graham is encouraging Christians to pray for President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris in the wake of what he is calling a turbulent time in U.S. history,\u00a0<\/span>Christian Headlines\u00a0<\/span><\/em>reports.<\/span><\/p>\n

The son of the late Rev. Billy Graham, who has also been outspoken in his support of President Trump, shared these comments on social media.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe division in our country is as great as any time since the Civil War,\u201d Graham said in a post on Facebook. \u201cI am calling on Christians to unite our hearts together in prayer for President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, and for the leadership in both parties.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Graham added, \u201cPray that everyone will stop the finger-pointing and realize that both parties bear responsibility for the problems we face today. Pray that they will come together and work together for the good of all of the American people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Graham\u2019s message was sent out just hours following Congress certifying Biden as the next president,\u00a0<\/span>Christian Headlines<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The tweets he shared generated over 40,000 comments in less than an hour. Responses were mixed.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the comments that received hundreds of likes said, \u201cIf I pray for Biden and Harris, it will be so that their eyes will be opened. They openly condone sin, and for that reason, I don\u2019t want their\u2019 leadership.\u2019 God will not be mocked!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Others supported Graham\u2019s message. One person replied, \u201cGood for you, brother. We need to come together. Thank you for your leadership and voice for this.
