Christian artists took to social media to condemn the violence and actions of those who stormed the US Capitol and clashed with police just as Congress convened to validate Joe Biden\u2019s presidential win. These artists also stressed the reality of spiritual warfare, the\u00a0<\/span>Christian Post<\/span><\/em>\u00a0reports.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of the rioters who stormed the US Capitol building were carrying \u201cJesus 2020\u201d signs, \u201cIn God We Trust\u201d banners, and a large cross. This drew condemnation from pastors and leaders on both sides of the political aisle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Several artists denounced the actions, including Christian hip-hop artist Lecrae.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cThere are two kingdoms at war,\u201d Lecrae wrote on his Instagram page. \u201cThe empires of man and the Kingdom of God.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In his post, Lecrae stressed that there are \u201ctwo Kingdoms at war.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhich one has true power? Which one leads people to real freedom? We saw Moses wrestling with Egypt. We saw God-fearing Israelites processing how to navigate the Roman Empire,\u201d Lecrae wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n

The artist added that he believes God is challenging people to not idolize the empire, along with the freedom it provides.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNone of the world\u2019s empires will last,\u201d Lecrae said. \u201cThe Kingdom will reign forever, with a King who will righteously rule. In chaos or calm, our role is to leave a picture of the Kingdom wherever we go.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a lesson here about what true power looks like. There\u2019s an invitation to listen to the story that God is telling with His voice. There\u2019s a powerful challenge to issue to our hearts about what matters most to us. There\u2019s a message about the seduction of empire, the illusion of control, and the allure of power,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lecrae also advised his followers to not \u201ctake the spiritual realities lightly.\u201d He reminded his followers that the \u201cdevil has a plot, but God has a plan.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He followed up with a video, announcing a call for unity and warning against political nationalism.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Wednesday, dozens of people breached security perimeters of the US Capitol, aiming to stall Congress\u2019 certification of the Electoral College votes. They also hoped to pressure Republican lawmakers to overturn president-elect Joe Biden\u2019s electoral victory.<\/span><\/p>\n

The riots resulted in at least four deaths and dozens of arrests.<\/span><\/p>\n
