Chris Cuomo, the host of CNN\u2019s Cuomo Prime Time, recently mocked Sen. Marco Rubio\u2019s faith, calling him \u201cMr. Bible Boy\u201d in what many are considering anti-Christian remarks. He also said, \u201che\u2019s got a Bible quote for every moment, he just never speaks truth to power or acts on any of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The comments were made with fellow CNN host Don Lemon after Lemon tried to impersonate President Donald Trump following a recently released recording of a phone call he had with George Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.<\/p>\n
On the recording, Trump appeared to urge Raffensperger to \u201cfind\u201d enough votes to reverse the outcome of the state\u2019s election results.
\nLemon called Raffensperger a \u201cman of faith\u201d for holding his own during his call with Trump. This is when Cuomo began to make fun of Rubio.<\/p>\n
\u201cLook, Trump, I believe, will be remembered as the worst,\u201d said Cuomo. \u201cWe\u2019ve never seen anybody abuse the office the way he has \u2014 not in our lifetime. But the people, those who remain, the Kevin McCarthys, the people in the House, the people in the Senate. \u2026 The man he called Lyin\u2019 Ted, the man he called Little Marco, Mr. Bible Boy.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know, he\u2019s got a Bible quote for every moment,\u201d the anchor added. \u201cHe just never speaks truth to power or acts on any of it in the interest of his own state or of his country.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cuomo fired back at Cuomo in a tweet, not backing down from his faith.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe verses I tweet are usually the ones chosen by the Catholic Church for that days mass,\u201d Rubio wrote. \u201cBut the fact he thinks words written thousands of years ago are relevant to current events proves the Bible isn\u2019t just a book, it\u2019s the word of God. AMEN.\u201d<\/p>\n
