Rep. Maxine Waters is confident that God has placed her the position she\u2019s in for a specific purpose: to do everything in her power to combat President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

The 79-year-old progressive lawmaker stood behind the pulpit at First AME Church in Lose Angeles declaring she has been sent by God to take on President Donald Trump and his allies.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve gotta know that I\u2019m here to do the work that I was sent to do, and as pastor said to me when I came in the morning, \u2018When God sends you to do something, you just do it,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cSo I have I\u2019m going back to Washington tomorrow morning, I\u2019m going to tell them pastor told me to come here and just do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

While some believe her rhetoric is divisive, Waters has always been strong and confident in her expression, gaining support for her unapologetic stance on many issues.<\/p>\n

Despite calls to tone down her message from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif), she is committed to saying what she believes need to be said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have no fear. I\u2019m in this fight. I know that there are those who are talking about censuring me, talking about kicking me out of Congress, talking about shooting me, talking about hanging me,\u201d Waters told the congregation. \u201cAll I have to say is this: If you shoot me, you better shoot straight. There\u2019s nothing like a wounded animal.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is not the first time she\u2019s talked about God regarding the president. She also said God was \u201con our side\u201d when she urged her party in late to June to take on members of the Trump administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd, and you push back on them, and you tell them they\u2019re not welcome anymore, anywhere,\u201d Waters said.<\/p>\n
