It reviews the emergence of a post-conservative brand of Evangelicalism that tries to find a middle ground between traditional conservative Evangelicals and liberal mainstream Protestants. Reference is made to Roger Olson&#8217;s recent book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0310283388\/davesmormonin-20\">How to be Evangelical Without Being Conservative<\/a>, which sounds like a great place to start for someone who wants to know more. Does anyone out there who thinks of himself or herself as a radical or post-conservative Evangelical want to fill us in?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>A couple of other links some of you might find interesting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/chriscarrollsmith.blogspot.com\/2009\/01\/christianity-today-on-sci-fi-and.html\">On Sci-Fi and Salvation<\/a>,&#8221; at Mild-Mannered Musings, commenting on an article at <em>Christianity Today<\/em>. The post notes how some sci-fi movies &#8220;re-enchant the universe with genuinely supernatural forces,&#8221; and quotes the claim of the author of the CT piece that &#8220;Pop-culture fiction, not academic non-fiction, is now the cutting-edge of public discourse on spirituality.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Speaking of pop culture, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ldsphilosopher.com\/2009\/02\/05\/conviction-uncompelled\/\">Conviction by Invitation<\/a>,&#8221; at LDS Philosopher, discusses religious convictions and choosing to believe as exemplified by Ellie, the Jodie Foster character in the movie <em>Contact<\/em>.
